Since I relaunched this site a few years ago, I have posted only about personal topics and nothing related to work. As the founder of a digital studio, I feel like I’m expected to publish about work, but I wanted to keep this website distinct from Plank. I wanted this to be a place where I could explore everything about myself not related to work. Lately, I have considered changing my mind.
As a result of attending my first Ownercamp in November 2012, my confidence as a company owner has been growing. I finally feel like I have something distinct to say about what I’ve learnt from running Plank for the past 15 years. I feel like I have a specific opinion and point of view that is at least interesting, if not original. The time I have spent talking with other digital company owners made me realize that I have opinions on things that I should share. I think it’s time that I stand up for what I believe in and let people out side of the walls of Plank hear my thoughts.
I don’t plan on being controversial and as much as I would like to rant about some topics, I’ll do what I can to be measured and considered. I am definitely passionate about things, but not dogmatic. I’m no intellectual but I will do my best to be intelligent. So, if you want to learnt a bit about what it takes to run a 10+ person digital company for over 15 years, I encourage you to check back here often.
