Walk off Single in the bottom of the 9th by Munenori Kawasaki
First MLB game in 10 years in Montreal
This Spring Training game was my first time back to the Olympic Stadium since the last Expos game in September 2004. I found it surreal to be there as I have many specific and profound memories of baseball growing up. The stadium was in such a sorry state with terrible concessions and very little to buy. The place just felt like a warn-out concrete cave. The field is still shoddy and looks like something from a time capsule.
At least they had a nice ceremony for Gary Carter’s family before the game began.
The game itself was actually great. The fans were into it and chose by default to cheer for the Blue Jays. Any game that goes into the 9th inning tied and ends with any type of walk-off makes me very happy.
