On Saturday morning I bid farewell after two great days in Philadelphia and got on the train to New York City. After about an hour and half, I found myself consumed by the hustle and bustle of Penn Station. I didn’t intend to spend my time exploring Manhattan but find my way to the Holiday Inn in Corona, NY. I scooted over to Grand Central Station, took the bus to Laguardia Airport and then hopped on the hotel shuttle. My room for the evening would be a 10-minute walk to Citi Field.
I got to spend last game of the week surrounded by fellow Expos Nation fans. We enjoyed an exciting 9 innings between the New York Mets and the Florida Marlins. From MLB.com:
“A packed house at Citi Field watched Chris Young come off the bench to hit a tying homer in the seventh, and they really went into a frenzy after Eric Campbell’s go-ahead pinch-hit single in the eighth. Miami blew a pair of two-run leads, falling to a season-low five under .500.”
A few weeks ago I received an email from Expos Nation about a trip to see a Mets game to continue to let the world know that there are Montrealers who still very seriously want a MLB team back in our city.

It was great to get the chance to talk to all the other fans at the game who were wondering why we were there. Everyone thought it was a great initiative and were happy to have us (even if they didn’t appreciate our “Let Go Expos!” chants).

Still hoping that one day, we get our team back.
