Without a doubt one of the best things about this baseball trip is that thanks to the friends I’ve made at Ownercamp, I have been able to share my games with local fans. I was fortunate to get the chance to tag a long on a field trip with the whole team at Fastpost.

Top Left: A view of the Harborfront from my hotel, The Royal Sonesta Harbor Court. / Top Right: Some old buildings right at the corner of Fell’s Point and the Habour. / Bottom Left: Baltimore propaganda. / Botton Right: Birdie, one of the most popular members of the Fastspot team.

Since this was my first trip to Baltimore, I took some time in the afternoon to explore the city. While we all have heard about the terrible state of some Baltimore neighbourhoods, I clearly was playing tourist and only managed to explore parts of The Harborfront, Fell’s Point and Federal Hill. I really didn’t see the Baltimore I’d imagined.

We had a really beautiful view of the night sky from our seats.

Camden Yards really deserves its reputation as one of the most beautiful MLB parks.

While it was a very social evening chatting with a lot of new people, unfortunately for the home fans, the Nationals dominated the game from the first inning onwards. From MLB.com:

The Nationals used the long ball to defeat the Orioles, 6-2, on Wednesday night as the Battle of the Beltways shifted to Camden Yards. The Nats increased their lead in the National League East to one game ahead of the Braves, who lost to the Mets at Citi Field.

They clearly have a great lineup but if they don’t make the playoff this year, it will be because of their starting pitching. I wonder if they will go after someone before the trade deadline.
