After making the playoffs for three of the last five seasons, to come in last in the AL East with a losing record of 74-88 was a bitter disappointment for the Blue Jays. After investing over $400 million into renovations for the Rogers Centre over the last few years to end up in the uncertain roster shape at the end of 2024 was a disappointment.

The highlights of 2024

  • Vladdy Jr. having an unbelievable second half of the season and finishing up with a .323 average and 30 home runs
  • The promotion of the AAA “kids” meant a solid few months of seeing what was possible at the major league level for Horwitz, Clement and Barger and others
  • With the deadline trades, Toronto got what seems to be a solid addition to the line-up in 2025 in Will Wagner

The disappointments of 2024

  • George Springer continues to regress and seems to be showing his age earlier than expected while Dalton Varsho needs to match his outstanding fielding with a bit more hitting
  • While the trade deadline moves were expected, it was not fun to see the Blue Jays get rid of Kikuchi, Garcia, Kiner-Falefa, Jansen, Turner and Kiermaier in one shot
  • The injuries to Bichette, Swanson, Manoah and Romano had a painful impact on the competitiveness of the team

After a successful year managing my season tickets in 2023 and a less successful one in 2024, I decided to give them up in 2025. I’m feeling like a flex pack and and few extra series will suit me well without the extra work managing a full season of tickets.
