While the Blue Jays staged an attempt to come back in the bottom of the ninth, it came to nothing. It was a frustrating game with no moves making a difference, the pitching was erratic, and the management of the game had no impact. There was no big moment, no all-star hit, and generally a scrappy small-ball game that the Guardians won.
There was a lot of positive father-son dynamics among the people sitting around me. There was a man behind me with his 8-year-old son, asking hundreds of questions about the game. It was nice to hear a father who was patient, knowledgeable, and willing to entertain all thoughts and comments in a positive light. In front of me was a father with his three sons, and they also had a sweet dynamic. They were all into the game and generally liked each other. The father was there with a backpack full of food and drink to keep them fed, along with a reasonable amount of ballpark snacks. He was attentive, hugged all of them at some point, and was clearly bringing up stable children.
