With Aaron Nola unsteady in the first, I was worried that it was going to be an uncomfortable game for the Phillies and their fans. I was pleasantly surprised by how this game would unfold.

I’ve been fortunate to experience many memorable baseball moments over the last 15 years, but I never thought I would get to see a performance more impressive and rare than a perfect game.

When Kyle Schwarber came up in the first inning and slammed a solo home run to give the Phillies a lead they didn’t lose all evening, I did not realize I was going to be there to watch him hit three more. By the end of the evening, Schwarber was only the 21st person in MLB history to hit four home runs in a game, and then Phillies fans let him know how special it was with cheers of “MVP! MVP!”.
