San Francisco, CA at Night

Night view of a city street with bright lights

One of the best things about Plank having clients in California is that I get the opportunity to visit the Bay Area, specifically San Francisco, annually. I know a lot of people like to rag on the city because of its many problems, such as homelessness, economic disparity, and progressive politics, but I love the place to death.

Usually, getting in on a flight from Southern California after visiting some relatives, you can immediately feel the difference between the two areas of the state. The rolling hills, the lush vegetation, and the consistent weather make the environment feel crisp. For me, though, it’s the architecture, the aesthetics of the homes, and the layout and originality of the different downtown neighbourhoods.

Sure, there are some sketchy areas of the city, but once you know where to go and how to get there, I love that it’s very walkable, as long as you can handle all of the hills.
