At 5:30 pm, I left my hotel to get to the Red Line Lake Station and take it down to 34th & Sox. Getting off the L-Train was quite a contrast from downtown as I was basically let out in the middle of a highway to walk over to the stadium. The seats were good, they were on the aisle, and good food and drink options were nearby.
As a fan of Chicago, I took no pleasure in seeing the White Sox lose tonight, on pace to have one of the worst seasons in MLB history. On the other hand, to be present for an evening of three Juan Soto home runs that accounted for all of New York’s scoring was something special to see. The Soto-Judge duo is one of the most productive paid in Yankees history, evoking names like Ruth and Gehrig in the conversation.
Aaron Boone, the Yankees manager, said best, “I can’t imagine a tandem being more dominant than they’ve been all season long.”
Unfortunately for the White Sox, who managed to load the bases at the bottom of the ninth, they couldn’t add to their one run and lost.
