While I was in Toronto primarily to work remotely while using my Blue Jays season tickets in the evening, the highlight of the trip was dinner with two old friends at Barberian’s Steak House. While I’ve known about this spot for a long time, it was my first visit and was well worth it. We chose to have a shared meal to try a few different appetizers, sides and steaks.
My other highlight meal of the trip was meeting up with a Plank work partner at ki modern japanese + bar, which I have walked by many times. We had a quick, light lunch and tried a few of his favourite dishes. As someone who worked there in the 2000s, my lunch partner had a good idea of what the best picks were.
I also visited the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE / The Ex) one afternoon for the third year in a row. I am proud that we have worked with them for almost four years now and have helped to evolve and improve their different website continuously.
Finally, while I gave up my Looney Dog Tuesday night tickets to catch up with friends, I got to use my season’s tickets and see four Blue Jays games this trip. While it would have been nice to see them win more than two games, the highlight of the week was seeing Addison Barger hit his first walk-off home run to win the Friday, August 23rd game to beat the Los Angeles Angels 5-4.
